Parallels and Resonances

Re-reading one of my OrigFic projects with an eye to revision, I found a segment where my MC is boinking the guy she hunts vampires with on a regular basis, wants more than just a "partners with benefits" type of relationship, but is afraid to say anything because she might ruin their working relationship.

See: James and Alec. Clearly, this is a theme that appeals to me on some level or other.

Later, in the same book, when the two hunters are trying to follow somebody she says, jokingly, "You can be James Bond and I'll be ... " She can't think of anyone (no internet access -- poor girl!)so he says "You can be my Bond Girl. The second one, who's alive at the end of the movie."

An anonymous poster replied: If I recall correctly, there was some kind of digression about that very subject in something by Plato ('who tops?' being an important question in the day). He was decrying the mistaken idea people had that Patroclus was the 'beloved', when Achilles was clearly the younger and prettier of the two.

I think the internet has always been with us, in spirit.
