So I went to JoAnn's after work today -- and they had a SALE going on. I not only got the pattern for the Jedi under-tunic, and two others, 'cause Butterick patterns are on sale for 99 cents. Win!
I also got some wrinkly cotton for the under-tunic, from the clearance rack. It was listed at $5 a yard, and all the clearance was half off, so $2.50 a yard. It's got floweres stitched on it in pale yellow, but I figure I can either dye it or go at the stitches with a seam ripper one of these days when I'm sitting in front of the TV.
I'd planned to get some of the blue-grid interfacing fabric stuff for making a muslin, but the only stuff they had was so flimsy that it stretched when I was just slightly tugging at it. Not something to use if I want to get any kind of accurate read on how this thing moves -- or doesn't. And since movement is important if you're going to be a Jedi ...
So I headed back to the clearance racks, and found some truly godawful ugly red-on-pink calico that was listed for $2 a yard. Buck a yard, on sale, when the crap interfacing was going to be @2.
Win, win, and WIN.
