In the belly of the Flying Dutchman, James Norrington screamed.
Jones had flogged him, cut him open, flayed him, burned him, and each time, his wounds had healed. Now he lay on a makeshift rack, and each jolt the Dutchman endured sending another wave of pain crashing through him.
Suddenly, he was free.
He huddled on the deck, and waited to see what form Jones' vengeance would take next.
The hand on his shoulder was surprisingly gentle. He looked up to see Turner staring down at him, pity in his eyes. "There's been," he said softly, "a change in command."
