Blindfolded, buckled into the passenger's seat of James's car, Alec had to fight not to let the trickle of doubt turn into raw panic.

there had been that redhead. What had her name been? Sophie? Something terribly French. She'd been happy enough to take them both to her bed. Alec had taken her from behind, while she'd wrapped her legs around James's waist. Feeling James through the thin membrane of flesh, feeling each others' hands on her --

Twenty years. It had been exactly twenty years since Arkangel. And has he had done every year since then, James Bond found himself in a pub, raising a pint to the memory of Alec Trevelyan

Breathless with pain, Alec staggered along the trail. It took all his willpower to keep from wrapping his fingers around the hilt of the dagger, and dragging it out of his back.

The first time they’d fucked, in a cave in Afghanistan, shaking with reaction and cold, when “what the bloody hell are you doing” had turned into “oh, god, yes.” Their first kiss, in Amsterdam. Alec had taken him against the wall, but when they’d finished, he’d spun him around and kissed him, hard.

"If you tell me to stop," he whispered, "I will. Just say ... " A notion came to him then, and he smiled. "Just say strawberries."

M frowned. Her instincts screamed that he was lying. But about what?

Once the plane was safely in the air -- and once Janus had finished reading him the riot act -- Boris Grishenko retreated to the small cabin in the back of the plane, better to let Janus and Xenia discuss their plans.

Her job had been easy enough, before the new M had come on board; the Admiral was no threat, and the she wasn't foolish enough to fall for any of the 00-agents who flirted with her as a way to hold death at bay.

Yaddle walked into the Outlander Club, just in time to hear Yoda say "Judge me by my size, do you?"

Anakin straigntened his shoulders, and when he spoke again, his voice was clear. "You need me," he said. "The Republic needs me."

Mace nodded, and the five of them went to confront the Sith Lord.

But then, he heard something--a heavy, clanging thud, like something had fallen on the roof of the train. But he knew, instinctively, that it wasn't rocks.

And indeed, he heard footsteps--with the harsh sound of claws.

It was Bossk up there. And now he was trapped.

Lord of the Rings

"Lord Boromir," the lady Arwen said, "We would be honored if you would join us."

When he’d kissed her to her satisfaction, he raised his head to look around. "But…where is Aragorn?"

"What, the company of your Queen isn’t enough for you?"

I take a deep breath, and put my hand on his cheek. "It hardly seems fair that we should each lose Aragorn for half our nights."

The words escaped me before I realize they were even on my tongue, and I felt my face growing hot. But Arwen only smiled.

She asks Boromir if he will lead them in the war that is to come. He asks if Aragorn would not be better suited. She reminds him that Aragorn only wanted to be King so that he could marry Arwen.

It was a debt Pippin could never repay, but he was determined to try.

At first, it was like waking slowly from a deep dreamless sleep. Except…he’d been dead, hadn’t he?

He called for Legolas and Gimli, then continued his examination of Boromir, running his hands down the man’s sides to feel for injury, and finding none. He laid his cloak down so that he wouldn’t get dirt into Boromir’s wound, and rolled him gently onto it.
