Author's Note: This fic was inspired (sort of) by a real incident. I spent the Christmas of 1992 in boot camp. One day, when I was already miserable and homesick, that song was played. My reaction was pretty much the same as Lisa's.
Timeline-wise, it falls between Blitzkrieg and Bye-Bye Mars.

In other words, I've got the first quarter and change of IPOADL plotted out, but the 3rd quarter is still completely blank. I know what I want to happen -- in general at least -- I'm just having trouble with specifics and logistics.

I've got a bunch of threads, I guess I'm just hesitating about the organization. Do I want to make each segment the tale of one "thread" or follow the threads side-by-side? (So to speak.) In mostly chronological order, I mean. *shrugs* I suck at plotting.

But yay me for a fic that didn't take hours and days and weeks and...just yay! Oh, and I did 753 words of original fic, too. Go me!
